The Gender and Development (GAD) Office of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), headed by its Director, Dr. Ma Theresa B. Nardo, spearheaded a planning workshop titled βFacilitating Gender Sensitivity Planning Workshop and Team-Building of GAD Focal Point System Members and Coordinatorsβ at the Universityβs Bamboo Training Center (BTC) Function Hall, 23-24 July.

Guided by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 01, series 2015, the TAU - GAD Office supports the mandate to strengthen the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) to accelerate gender mainstreaming and continue being responsive to the challenges and opportunities within the University and in the community.

Said meeting focuses on strategic planning for the upcoming State Colleges and Universities Faculty Association of Region III (SCUFAR - III) on 20-22 August. Headed by Dr. Divina C. Ladrillo, the President of SCUFAR III, the officers work on various strategies to strengthen the camaraderie and sportsmanship of the athletes from SUCs joining SCUFAR 2024.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), particularly the College of Business and Management (CBM), has recently attested its commitment to providing its students with prime opportunities to become capable and confident leaders who can make positive contributions in their communities as three of its registered student organizations were chosen as among the Outstanding Clubs of United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) for 2024, announced via National Coordinating Body of UNESCO Clubs in the Philippines (NCBUCP), Inc.'s official Facebook page, 30 July.

ππππππππππ | TAU-HRMO ties up with NASA, CAS for CSE review

Recognizing the importance of investing in its employeesβ professional development and career advancement, and committed to providing its personnel with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their careers, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) conducted a month-long Intensive Review for the Civil Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for non-teaching personnel which started on 10 July and will end on 8 August.

Initiated by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), in partnership with the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the said review aimed to help TAU non-teaching personnel under contract of service (COS) and Job Order (JO) statuses to earn their respective eligibility to comply with the minimum qualifications to be able to become tenured and/or upgraded from their positions. It is also expected to provide the attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills in preparation for the upcoming CSE-PPT on 11 August.

Showcasing the various technologies generated through its research and partnership initiatives, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through its Business Auxiliary Services (BAS) and Department of Extension and Training (DET), took part in this year's Business, Conference, and Expo (BizConEx 2024) at Bulwagang Kanlahi, Diwa ng Tarlak Convention Center, Tarlac City on 30-31 July.

The two-day event, which was spearheaded by the Tarlac Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (Tarlac SMEDC), aimed to develop and strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises through advocating mentorship, money, and market.

To prepare the accreditation team of the College of Business and Management (CBM), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Education (CEd) for the preliminary survey visits of their new degree programs, the Quality Assurance (QA) Office spearheaded a seminar-orientation at the Tarlac Agricultural Universityβs (TAU) Agritourism Hostel Function Hall on 1 August.

QA relayed that three of TAUβs tertiary programs: BS Tourism Management; BS Development Communication; and BS Technology and Livelihood Education, will be undergoing preparatory evaluation in 2024 by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP).
