Accordingly, out of 250 accredited Clubs for UNESCO for 2023, the NCBUCP Awards Committee has unanimously approved the recognition of the Junior Marketing Society (JMS) as an Outstanding Club for UNESCO for 2024 College Level - Information and Communication Category, while The Executives, and the Young Entrepreneurs' Society (YES) were named Outstanding Clubs for UNESCO for 2024 College Level both under Social and Human Science Category "for [their] commitment to excellence [that] has been duly recognized based on [their] programs and projects implemented from [January 2023 to May 2024] in pursuit of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)."
Β
The JMS is headed by its president Mr. Erwin Manansala, and guided by the club adviser, Dr. Jerome D. Soriano, while The Executives and YES are led by Mr. Kim Angelo Felix, and Ms. Bella Ellen Felix, respectively, under the tutelage of Ms. Shiyeahna I. Labonete and Ms. Kimberly Pascasio Robillos.
Β
In an online interview, Mr. Manansala said he is "extremely proud and fulfilled by our accomplishment."
Β
"It was a difficult journey that needed a lot of effort, dedication, and perseverance. This success has not only aided my personal and professional development, but it has also inspired me to establish and pursue even greater objectives in the future," he said.
Β
As for Ms. Felix, the YES club members were surprised and overwhelmed to be officially awarded as an Outstanding UNESCO Club for 2024.
Β
"As much as we believe in ourselves, we never expected to be one of the Outstanding UNESCO Clubs for 2024. Most of us are still in the process of molding our leadership skills and continuously seeking to address our weaknesses," she admitted.
Β
On the other hand, The Executives were honored and grateful for the accomplishment and opportunity to be recognized among different clubs and organizations, and they merit recognition to the Financial Management Department of CBM, and to the entire TAU community.
Β
"The University honed the illustrious student-organizations in bridging the gap towards the achievement of SDGs through educational, social, cultural, and environmental activities enticing the students to contribute and to take action," Mr. Felix claimed.
Β
The clubs' presidents were one in attributing their success to their club members who worked tirelessly for their projects' accomplishments, to their supportive advisers, to the CBM and TAU community, to their parents and loved ones, and to the Divine Almighty.
Β
They also commit to continue creating and partaking in different activities that will champion and adhere to TAU and UNESCOβs ideals and mission in building sustainable communities.
Β
Meanwhile, Dr. Erlie SD. Totaan, the CBM Dean, expressed her extreme pride and excitement for the clubs' selection by UNESCO as among the best student organizations.
Β
"By this recognition, UNESCO has simply confirmed that these awards are a reflection of your hard work, creativity and commitment to quality. Your efforts and leadership have transformed our College into an influential institution that others want to emulate," she said.
Β
