CAPTURED IN LENS | Highlighting Indigenous People’s (IP) education initiative dubbed as EduKatutubo, a flagship extension program, as the cornerstone of collaboration, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the College of Education (CEd) formalizes a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Maasin Community Elementary School (MCES) in San Clemente, Tarlac, at the Office of the President (OP) Conference Room on 11 April.

Representing the University are Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President; Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, CEd Dean; Prof. Analyn J. Alegado, Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) Chairperson; and Prof. Marlon B. Espedillon, Quality Assurance (QA) Office Assistant Director and MOU proponent. The MCES delegation is led by Dr. Aleth Lucero, alongside MCES faculty members and TAU-CEd alumni.

The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) along with Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC), and Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) convened with officials from the Israel Embassy to the Philippines to discuss emerging opportunities for collaboration in the field of agriculture on April 4 at Clark City, Pampanga.

The event was organized by Dr. Robert H. Lo, Founder and CEO of RDF Feed, Livestock, and Foods, Inc. Among the attendees were TAU’s College Deans along with Dr. Benny S. Soliman, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs and Dr. Marianne Villaruel, Director of Student Placement, who represented TAU in this important dialogue. Dr. Anita G. David, President of PSAU and Dr. Honeylet J. Nicolas, Vice President for Research, Extension, Production, and Development (REPD) of BASC were also present at the said event.

During the meeting, discussions regarding the current activities and partnerships with the Israel Embassy to the Philippines were tackled such as the Agrostudies program and MASHAV training.

CHRONICLES | TAU conducts gender-responsive psychological training, boosts global collaboration

To empower students, faculty, and staff of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) to champion a gender-inclusive, trauma-aware crisis response system, the TAU - National Service Training Program (NSTP) in collaboration with the Gender and Development (GAD) office, Student and Placement Office (SPO) and the External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) office spearheaded a simultaneous training-workshop titled “Gender-Responsive Training on Psychological First Aid: A Global Perspective,” facilitated by speakers from Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR), at the Bamboo Training Center (BTC) and AgriTourism Hostel Function Hall, 10 April.

The training-workshop for TAU employees included topics on cultural barriers in mental health disclosure, trauma considerations, and workplace-specific stress factors with expert insights from Dr. Endang R. Surjaningrum. 

Meanwhile, Ms. Bani Bacan Hacantya Yudanagara steered the discussion and workshop covering crisis response for peer support scenarios, academic stress interventions, and gender-based violence response protocols.

Estudillo, CAF faculty members, and University officials harvest the first batch of fresh produce from the CAF vegetable garden, 11 April.

Through the collaborative efforts of Mr. Frederick Godoy and his team, practicum instructors, Ms. Joanalyn Lata, Ms. Joyce Anne Manuel, Ms. Lyka Sia, and Mr. Carlo Sagun, this initiative reinforces CAF’s role in advancing agricultural production while integrating the practicum of CAF students to boost the Income-Generating Projects (IGP) of the University.

CAPTURED IN LENS | Students gather for the Gender-Sensitive Mental Health First-Aid Training (MHFA), organized by the Office of Student Services and Development (OSSD) in partnership with the Gender and Development (GAD) Office, at the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) Bamboo Training Center, 11 April.

Led by Ms. Jazmin Joy E. Dizon, the session equips participants with essential knowledge on the importance of inclusive and empathetic support for individuals in distress. The training features a combination of lecture, interactive workshop, and open forum, providing a safe space for participants to engage and deepen their understanding of gender-sensitive approaches to MHFA.

Through a collaborative effort to enhance the global competence of Information Technology (IT) students, the Sekolah Tinggi Informatika dan Komputer Indonesia (STIKI) Malang partnered with Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) for a Team Teaching program focused on Information Systems and Informatics Engineering from 26-27 March 2025.

Two IT instructors from TAU–College of Engineering and Technology (CET) namely, Mr. Renel F. Dumlao and Mr. Bryan Paul Danganan delivered lectures to STIKI students via Zoom.

Fluttering rainbow flags, engaging cultural performances, and powerful stories of resilience stole the spotlight as Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) conducted its annual Inclusion and Diversity Festival on 10-11 April that brought together LGBTQIA+ advocates,  Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), solo parents, Indigenous Peoples (IPs), and international students.

Spearheaded by the Student Inclusion Unit from the Office of Student Services and Development (OSSD), Gender and Development (GAD) office, College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Student Placement Office (SPO), and Supreme Student Council (SSC), the two-day event kicked off with interactive sessions and performances that provided avenues to foster awareness of various communities and to create safe and inclusive society.

CAPTURED IN LENS | To strengthen disaster preparedness and promote gender-responsive emergency communication, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) led by the National Service Training Program (NSTP) in collaboration with the Gender and Development (GAD) office and the Student Placement Office (SPO) conducts a training on radio land mobile and government radio operations at the TAU AgriTourism Hostel Function Hall, 11 April.

During the event, the participants engage in a meaningful discussion and training led by Engr. Mary Jane F. Del Rosario, a Professional Electronics Engineer from the Enforcement and Operation Division of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Region III.
