The Davao del Sur State College (DSSC) from Digos City, Davao del Sur visited Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) on 31 July to benchmark TAU’s best practices and earn insights about the University’s participation in various world reputable university rankings.

The delegation consisted of twenty (20) DSSC officials was able to learn TAU’s operation to participate in various university rankings in 2024 such as the Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Ranking where TAU garnered its 801-1000th rank, the World University Ranking for Innovation (WURI) – Global Top 300 Innovative Universities at 110th place, and the 2023 UI Greenmetric World University Ranking at 477th among others.

Hosted by the Rootcrops Research and Training Center (RRTC), the weekly flag-hoisting ceremony now begins at 8:00 a.m. every Monday. At the said gathering, birthday celebrators for the month of August are called on at the stage for a blessing initiated by Dr. Danilo N. Oficiar, Officer-in-Charge at the Office of the Student Services and Development (OSSD).

To prepare the accreditation team of the College of Business and Management (CBM), College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), and College of Education (CEd) for the preliminary survey visits of their new degree programs, the Quality Assurance (QA) Office spearheaded a seminar-orientation at the Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) Agritourism Hostel Function Hall on 1 August.

QA relayed that three of TAU’s tertiary programs: BS Tourism Management; BS Development Communication; and BS Technology and Livelihood Education, will be undergoing preparatory evaluation in 2024 by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP).

Showcasing the various technologies generated through its research and partnership initiatives, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through its Business Auxiliary Services (BAS) and Department of Extension and Training (DET), took part in this year's Business, Conference, and Expo (BizConEx 2024) at Bulwagang Kanlahi, Diwa ng Tarlak Convention Center, Tarlac City on 30-31 July.

The two-day event, which was spearheaded by the Tarlac Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council (Tarlac SMEDC), aimed to develop and strengthen micro, small, and medium enterprises through advocating mentorship, money, and market.

Recognizing the importance of investing in its employees’ professional development and career advancement, and committed to providing its personnel with the necessary tools and resources to succeed in their careers, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) conducted a month-long Intensive Review for the Civil Service Examination - Pen and Paper Test (CSE-PPT) for non-teaching personnel which started on 10 July and will end on 8 August.

Initiated by the Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), in partnership with the Non-Academic Staff Association (NASA) and the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the said review aimed to help TAU non-teaching personnel under contract of service (COS) and Job Order (JO) statuses to earn their respective eligibility to comply with the minimum qualifications to be able to become tenured and/or upgraded from their positions. It is also expected to provide the attendees with the necessary knowledge and skills in preparation for the upcoming CSE-PPT on 11 August.
