As the world celebrates Earth Month this April, it is an important reminder to take action to address environmental issues such as climate change, pollution, and deforestation. Highlighting the Earth Month celebration,  Earth Day is a day of reflection and unity in the global effort as it encourages individuals to engage in activities that promote sustainability to protect our planet and foster a deep connection to nature.

Earth Day 2024's theme, "Planet vs. Plastics" tackles one of today's most important environmental issues: plastic pollution. EarthDay.Org – the world’s largest advocate of environmental conservation, has launched a global campaign demanding all manufacturers a 60% reduction in producing more plastic materials by 2040 to create a plastic-free society as plastics pose a severe risk to both human health and the environment. Furthermore, as plastics decompose into microplastics, they release dangerous compounds into our food, water, and air. The Earth Day 2024 campaign is a call to action to eliminate the plastics crisis and protect the health of all living things.

Earth Day is more than just one day of protest; it is about instilling a culture of environmental awareness and responsibility year-round. It's about making everyday decisions emphasizing the planet's health, such as minimizing trash, conserving energy, or supporting environmentally friendly businesses. It is about understanding that our decisions will influence the planet we leave for future generations.
