UMAP Council Philippines names ELIA Director as VP for Luzon

Tarlac Agricultural University - Office of the External Linkages and International Affairs’ (ELIA) Director, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, was voted in as the new Vice President for Luzon of the University Mobility in the Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Council Philippines from 2021 to 2025.
In a letter, Dr. Ferrer was congratulated by Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Chairman, Dr. J. Prospero E. De Vera III as the latter expressed his confidence that the former will “steer the organization towards greater heights and foster a new spirit of progress and collaboration.”
In response, Dr. Ferrer conveyed her gratitude to CHED and her fellow members at the UMAP Council Philippines. She also vowed to champion sustainability in the mobility programs of the organization. “We hope that we could also share some of our initiatives at TAU to other Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), be it in Luzon or other regions in the country,” she added.
Other elected members were: Dr. Laurene Chua-Garcia of De La Salle University, President; Dr. Jeremy Godofredo Morales of St. Paul University Philippines, Executive Vice President; Ms. Edel Carmela S. Subong-Csoka of West Visayas State University, Vice President for Visayas; Dr. Mario R. Obra Jr. of Western Mindanao State University, Vice President for Mindanao; and Engr. Rosette Eira Espejo-Camus of Mapua University, Vice President for National Capital Region.
To be sworn-in as board members are the following: Sr. Maruja S. Padre Juan, MSCS of Adamson University; Dr. Vivian C. Peligro of Agusan del Sur State College of Agriculture; Dr. Mildred M. Crisostomo of Don Honorio Ventura State University; Ms. Moira G. Uy of Far Easter University; Dr. Maribeth Gualberto-Buenviaje of Lyceum of the Philippines University - Batangas; Dr. Jasmin Nario-Galace of Miriam College; Dr. Heracleo D. Lagrada of Our Lady of Fatima University; Dr. Mary Grace P. Carrido of St. Louis University - Baguio; and Dr. Abegayle Machelle Perez-Chua of University of Batangas. Meanwhile, Dr. Lourdes T. Nepomuceno of UP Diliman will serve as an ex-officio member.
