TAU’s IZN agenda diversifies, accepts Indonesian middle managers, staff

Tarlac Agricultural University’s (TAU) internationalization (IZN) program has officially integrated non-teaching staff development. This recent expansion was launched upon the welcoming of the administrative staff of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) at TAU Hostel Agri-Tourism Function Hall on 14 March.
Rolling out the red carpet for the ITS delegates was TAU President, Dr. Max P. Guillermo, who greeted them and wished that they enjoy their five-day stay at the university. “Today, we open our university not only to students but also to staff to even extend our reach in the international panorama,” Dr. Guillermo stated.
After introducing the ITS delegation, Ms. Fifa Pransiska Indra Loseta, staff for promotion under the Directorate of Academic, invited TAU officials to visit Surabaya where ITS is located. “We hope you could also come to East Java, Indonesia as there are many tourist spots near our university.”
Also, part of the morning program was the presentation of the university's general operations and structure which was led by Dr. Noel J. Petero, Vice President for Finance and Administration (VPFA).
Meanwhile, ITS requested for the ceremonial conferment of the Partner University of the Year in Inbound Student Mobility award which the ITS international office bestowed to TAU in recognition of its “outstanding contribution in student mobility” on 7 February. TAU was also nominated in the Inbound Lecturer Mobility, Outstanding Individual Partner of the Year, and Outstanding Partner of the Year categories making TAU institution with the most number of nominations in the Asia Pacific region.
The program was ended by Ms. Novabina C. Eugenio, Chief of Supply Management Office, whose closing remarks focused on the importance of benchmarking activities. “May you gain knowledge and ideas to reflect upon and adopt when you return to your university,” Ms. Eugenio remarked.
The ITS itinerary includes info sessions with students, visits to TAU’s strategic centers, and immersion in different offices under the Office of VPFA and Office of the VP for Academic Affairs.
