TAU ranks 601-800 in the 2021 Times Higher Education Impact Ranking
A validation of Tarlac Agricultural University's expanding international reputation and visibility, the University got hold of another global recognition this year for placing 601-800 in the Times Higher Education Impact Ranking 2021.
The Times Higher Education Impact Rankings Methodology assesses the global performance of universities against the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), using carefully calibrated indicators to provide comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas: research, stewardship, outreach and teaching.
The 2021 Impact Rankings in its third edition, includes 1,115 universities which qualified from 94 countries and/or regions.
For this year, the overall ranking is led by a UK university for the first time: the University of Manchester. Three Australian institutions complete the top four: the University of Sydney, RMIT University and La Trobe University.
TAU is the only state university in the Philippines to be included in the ranking. Other higher education institutions from the country that secured spots in the THE Impact Ranking 2021 are the following: Ateneo De Manila University, De La Salle University, University of Santo Tomas and Mapua University.
As an inaugural participant, TAU also gained individual ranks from 13 out of 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.
Compelled by the commitment to initiate personal and societal transformation, TAU has engaged in innumerable programs anticipated to effect change and stay relevant. It continuously strives to remain enthusiastic in seeking all potential tie-ups in order to pull off its mission of bringing out social transformation and countryside development towards establishing international relations and global engagement, anchored on the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
As an advocate of sustainable development, TAU President Dr. Max P. Guillermo, leads the university to integrate the various sustainability indicators in the functions and operations of the university. The inclusion of TAU in this ranking methodology is a concerted effort of the University's SDG Taskforce, with the guidance and encouragement of the CHED International Affairs Office.
