TAU Exhibits Sweet Potato Technology At 2022 THRIVE Innovation Summit

Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) showcased the Sweet Potato Clean Planting Material (SPCPM) Production during the Technological Hive of Regional Innovation for a Vibrant Ecosystem (THRIVE) Central Luzon Innovation Summit from November 29 to December 1, 2022, as part of the recent regional celebration of National Science and Technology Week (NSTW).

Through information exchange, technological displays, and S&T initiatives, NSTW seeks to educate the Filipino people and the many societal sections about the inventiveness, originality, and remarkable S&T breakthroughs that are distinctive to the Philippines.

Dr. Lilibeth B. Laranang, SPCPM Tech Innovator, together with Mr. Dominador B. Corpuz, SP-CPM Producers’ Cooperative General Manager, represented the university in the said event which transpired in The Orchid Gardens, Pampanga.

The event featured a number of participating institutions' booths showcasing various technologies, as well as the formal signing of a memorandum of agreement for the adoption of certain innovations.

Laranang also received Gawad TekInnovation in recognition of TAU's dedication to advancing the Mayantoc Sweet Potato Clean Materials Producers Cooperative.

TAU's Science for Development (S4D) Technologies include SPCPM. Under the Niche Centers in the Regions (NICER) Program of TAU, the Department of Science and Technology is funding and the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development is overseeing this initiative.
