The Tarlac Agricultural University is hosting Dr. Tomasz Bojar-Fijalkowski, Vice Rector for Science and Quality of Education at Powiล›laล„ski University, Poland during his stay as scholar of Erasmus+ Programme from February 17 to 23, 2025.

One of his primary goals in visiting TAU is to share his expertise and knowledge skills to the BS Economics students on general introduction to Poland and its economy, condition for the export of goods from Asia to the European Union, European Green Deal as a current European Union Development as well as non-financial reporting standards in the European Union affecting international partners. The lectures ran for two (2) days. This collaboration provides students with the opportunity to explore various aspects of economics through global engagement.

A welcome program was held for Dr. Bojar-Fijalkowski on February 18 where TAU academic leaders, Dr. Silverio Ramon Salunson, University President and Dr. Sonny Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs shared thoughtful messages to the visiting professor. Dr. Benny S. Soliman, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), provided an overview of the Erasmus+ Programme and discussed the joint collaboration between TAU and Powiล›laล„ski University, as formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).

Additionally, Dr. Sheila R. Lingaya, Assistant Director and Chief for International Mobility of ELIA acknowledged the presence of the TAU officials at the event. A brief introduction of Dr. Bojar-Fijalkowski was presented by Ms. Caroline N. Gabis, Chief for Partnership Development of ELIA. This introduction highlighted his educational achievements and significant contributions to the international academic community.

In his message of support for TAU, Dr. Bojar-Fijalkowski revealed that TAU is the only Philippine Higher Education Institution (PHEI) currently partnered with Powiล›laล„ski University. He also expressed his gratitude to the entire TAU community for their warm welcome and for providing him with this opportunity to teach at TAU.

Furthermore, a key component of the event was to network with the College Deans of TAU namely, Dr. Erlie S.D. Totaan of the College of Business and Management (CBM), Dr. Sherwin S. Alar of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares of the College of Education (CED), Dr. Ruben A. Parazo of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET), Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) and Dr. Lavina Gracia M. Ramirez of the College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM).

Meanwhile, Dr. Bojar-Fijalkowski toured TAUโ€™s research development facilities such as the Root Crops Research and Training Center (RRTC), SMART Agriculture Center, Bambusetum and the Engineered Bamboo Project Facility.

Seizing the opportunity to visit the Province, Dr. Bojar-Fijalkowski will explore Tarlacโ€™s historical landmarks and museums as well as taste its popular cuisines. Before heading back to his country, he will also stay in Pangasinan for two (2) days to visit the Hundred Islands in Alaminos and Patar Beach in Bolinao.
