Passage to ASEAN (P2A), a think tank and academic institution listed under ASEAN charter and is currently housed in Duy Tan University in Vietnam, has commenced the mobility program involving seven higher education institutions (HEIs) in South East Asia through a virtual opening ceremony on 12 April.
Representing Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) in the short-term program are nine Bachelor of Science Tourism Management (BSTM) students from the College of Business and Management (CBM) namely, Anita M. Forcadilla, Aprilyn V. Datuin, Irish Ann A. Campos, Dhanna Gay V. Dumayas, Bernadette Mariano, Rico James P. Vidad, Anabel T. Agbulig, Jermaine Clyde Reyes, and Mark Laurence C. Subaran.
The TAU Global Ambassadors will be joined in the month-long special sessions by participants from Vietnam (Duy Tan University and Phenikaa University), Malaysia (SUNWAY University), Indonesia (Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof Dr. HAMKA), and Philippines (Bukidnon State University, Panpacific University, and Saint Mary’s University).
“I believe that the main goal of this activity is to facilitate the intellectual maturation and development of students,” CBM Dean Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson noted.
Guided by the theme: “ASEAN Youth - Digital Dream Actualization,” said P2A program will run from April 12 to May 19, 2023 to nurture cross-cultural understanding, promote the region’s heritage sites and natural wonders, encourage critical thinking, and foster leadership and problem-solving skills among ASEAN students by engaging them in a series of collaborative activities.
