A team from the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) brought pride to Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) after bagging the third place in both the product pitching and poster competitions under the student category during the Agri-Innovation Forum 2025 at Pampanga State Agricultural University (PSAU) from 17-21 March.Β

Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students Andrew James J. Balquin and Joven C. In an interview, Mr. Balquin conveyed his message of gratitude to Mr. Pascual and their teammates:Β  Kyle L. Martin; Sam Ephraim J. Alegado; and Glaiza D. Bangan and their thesis adviser, Mr. Rodel C. Ramos. β€œWe also want to recognize our coach, Mr. Jerome L. Duque, and Dr. Jay Ar A. De Mayo, Mr. Emanuelle Jayson T. Boac, and Mr. Nelmar A. As TAU’s first-ever initiative of its kind, the event also showcased an innovation by Ms. Susana D. Ramos and Ms. Myrla Ramos, faculty members from the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) – Department of Food Technology (DFT) who presented TAU’s signature decoction, formulated with herbal and indigenous ingredients.

Meanwhile, Dr. Maria Elena T. Caguioa, Director of the Department of Research and Development (DRD), expressed her heartfelt appreciation to the faculty, student innovators, and their mentors for their creativity and dedication. She acknowledged that the achievement was made possible through the unified efforts of the Information Unit, the Communicators Bridging Opportunities through Leadership (CBOL) of the Department of Development Communication, the IP TBM Project team members, and the DRD staff, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to prepare and support the entries.

β€œLet me extend my huge and warmest congratulations to our amazing teams! Seems like it’s not our very first time competing in this prestigious event. What an incredible first run for TAU,” Dr. Caguioa shared.

Under the theme β€œSisidlan: Igniting Minds to Transform Agri-Aqua InnoVention,” this hybrid event integrates virtual workshops and in-person activities, bringing together students, researchers, and industry leaders. It aims to address challenges in agriculture and aquaculture through innovation, focusing on Agri-Aqua inputs, food product development, smart machinery, and emerging technologies.
