TAU CEd is on a roll.
After receiving numerous recognitions both internally and externally, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) College of Education (CEd) has been lauded once more as one of the countryโs top-performing Teacher Education Institutions (TEIs) through the Excellence in Quality Assurance in Teacher Education (EQUATE) award bestowed by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd) at the Manila Hotel on 2 April.
Out of over 1,500 TEIs nationwide, only 50 were honored with the EQUATE distinction in elementary education. Such is an undeniable testament to TAU CEdโs unwavering commitment to "upholding the highest standards in pre-service teacher education" while adhering to CHEdโs stringent requirements, maintaining high program accreditation, and achieving outstanding results in the Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (BLEPT).
Prof. Prospero โPopoyโย De Vera III, CHEd Chairperson, congratulated the awardees and stated that they are undeniably the best of the best. He also stressed that the recognition signified an investment in the future generation, ultimately benefiting the country as a whole.
Said event also featured discussions on the CHEd Strategic Directions in Philippine Teacher Education, led by Dr. Edizon A. Fermin, Chair of the Technical Panel for Teacher Education. Senator Sherwin T. Gatchalian, who closed the program, highlighted the vital role of TEIs in preparing and nurturing future movers and shakers in the country and abroad.

Steered by TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson and guided by its Dean Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, TAU-CEd continues to raise the bar in teacher education, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for future educators.ย
Dr. Salunson lauded CEd for securing yet another accolade, further elevating TAUโs reputation in higher education. โWe are deeply humbled by this recognition, as it affirms the relentless efforts and sacrifices of the entire TAU communityโour administrators, faculty, staff, students, and partners,โ Dr. Salunson shared. He then emphasized that the award not only honors CEdโs legacy but also reflects the Universityโs collective aspiration to pursue academic merits and contribute to nation-building.
"This achievement is a shared victory for our administrators, faculty, students, and stakeholders," Dean Olivares wrote in a Facebook post.
Dr. Salunson and Dr. Olivares were also joined in the awarding ceremony by Dr. Sonny DC. Torres, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs (VPASA); and Ms. Analyn J. Alegado, Chair of the Department of Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd).ย ย
Meanwhile, TAU CEd is expanding its academic portfolio with the upcoming opening of the Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Sports Science (BS ESS) program next academic year. This new offering will be an addition to its existing four programs, all of which maintain the Level IV accreditation status - the highest assessment given by the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).
