DA Sec. Dar, other DA officials visit TAU
Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary William Dar and DA officials surveyed the agricultural initiatives of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) last July 12.
Sec. Dar was accompanied by Dr. William Medrano, Assistant Secretary for Livestock, Dr. Reildrin Morales, Executive Director of National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS), Marilyn Mabale, Administrator of National Dairy Authority (NDA), Dr. Farrell Benjelix Magtoto, Deputy Administrator of NDA, and Crispulo Bautista, Jr., Regional Executive Director of the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office III (DA-RFO III).
The DA officials made a stop at TAU after they graced a turnover of imported dairy goats to Sawat Overseas Workers and Family Association (SOWFA) based in Sawat, Camiling, Tarlac.
With the assistance of University President Max Guillermo, Vice President for Research and Extension Ma. Asuncion Beltran and other university staff, the DA officials surveyed TAU’s agricultural projects such as the Free-Range Chicken Production Project, the Hybrid Rice Project, the Smart Agriculture, the Bamboo Project, and the Artificial Insemination (AI) Center.
The TAU Bamboo Center provided each DA official a table name plate made from bamboo as a souvenir.
The visit lasted up to dinner. During their visit, the DA officials lauded TAU for its agricultural initiatives. The officials had the sentiment that TAU’s agricultural initiatives are worth emulating by other institutions. (ABGannod, PDO)
