Β
The Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) capped off its five-day Gender Responsive Training on Emergency Response and Ambulance Management on 13 September at the Gilberto O. Teodoro Multipurpose Center.
Β
The intensive training, spearheaded by the TAU Gender and Development (GAD) Office, in collaboration with the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) - Tarlac, is geared towards equipping the fourth batch of faculty members and non-teaching personnel from the University with essential life-saving skills and emergency response protocols.
Β
Mr. Sherwin Rosales, EMT and PDRRMO Training and Safety Officer, and his team assisted in the hands-on training and practical sessions. They covered almost all topics, from basic first aid, CPR, and trauma management to ambulatory operations, and conducted basic incident exercises so participants could eventually acquire response efficiency in emergencies.
Β
The culmination of the training was marked by giving the participants the certificates proclaiming that they were now ready to serve as campus first responders and first responders in their own community.
Β
As closing remarks were made during the closing session, participants, all empowered with a more holistic understanding of emergency protocols and procedures, spoke in one voice to reassert a renewed commitment to applying the knowledge acquired for the safety and security of the TAU community.
