Committed to attaining the University's vision of becoming a premiere state institution while ensuring its quality policy of continuously improving its operations in providing at-par instruction to satisfy the needs and expectations of its stakeholders, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), through its College of Education (CEd), endured a three-day virtual accreditation of programs, 5 to 7 June, via Zoom online platform which was administered by Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP).

For this year, TAU-CEd submitted its Bachelor of Secondary Education and Master of Arts in Education for the Level 4, Phase 2, 2nd Cycle evaluation and were assessed on research, performance of graduates, community service, linkages and consortia, and planning process.

The three-day online accreditation formally commenced with a welcome message from Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, TAU President, followed by the presentation of Local Task Force and AACCUP Accreditors by Ms. Chelsea Madiclom. The AACCUP accreditors included Dr. Elsie M. Pacho, from Don Mariano Marcos Memorial State University (DMMMSU), as the overall coordinator; Dr. Joan V. Rivera, also from DMMMSU, as team leader; Dr. Jao-jao A. Somyden, from Benguet State University (BengSU), as team leader; and, Dr. Delia Eisma, also from DMMMSU, as accreditor.

As for Local Accreditation Task Force, Dr. Rene G. Nanit served as chair in research; Ms. Trisha Mae Ramos in teaching and learning; Ms. Myrjie Julian in community service; Ms. Analyn J. Alegado in linkages and consortia; and Dr. Lynn Michelle L. Gorospe in the planning process.

The statement of purpose and procedure for online accreditation was discussed by Dr. Pacho, after which the designated accreditors were given narrative profiles of each area by the respective chairs. Also, throughout the accreditation process, online document checking and interviews were conducted.

On the final day, an exit conference was conducted during which accreditors gave their impressions regarding the programs’ adherence to requirements stipulated in each parameter and sub-parameter for every area.

In her closing remarks, Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, CEd dean, expressed her sincere appreciation to the accreditors for the expertise, dedication, and thorough evaluation that had provided invaluable insights for the improvement of BSE and MAEd programs.

"Your constructive feedback and recommendations will undoubtedly help us enhance the quality and effectiveness of our BSE and MAED programs," she said.

She also acknowledged the remarkable efforts of the local accreditation task force for its unwavering dedication and meticulous preparation that had been instrumental in ensuring the smooth and successful execution of the accreditation visit.
Dr. Olivares also thanked Dr. Salunson for his all-out support to the College for this undertaking. "With your leadership and vision, we are optimistic about the positive changes and growth that lie ahead. We look forward to working closely together to achieve our shared goals and elevate our institution to new heights," the CEd dean declared.

Results whether the CEd programs had passed the accreditation process will be announced after the final evaluation and confirmation of the AACCUP Board of Directors.
