Student-leaders from various organizations at Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) participated in the β€œInclusive Leadership: Embracing Accountability and Championing Diverse Voices for Change,” held at the Continuing Education Center (CEC) and Amphitheater from 21-22 November.

An initiative led by the Supreme Student Council (SSC) President Mr. Jethro M. Jimenez, the two-day event aims to equip participants with additional knowledge and boost the skills of student-leaders. SSC advisers Ms. Erika R. Prado and Mr. Carlo Magno L. Sagun guided Mr. Jimenez to spearhead a set of informative forums. Held at the Amphitheater, the morning session was joined by invited speakers from Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Provincial Federation of Tarlac, TAU-SSC leaders, and Kabataan Partylist Representative Mr. Raoul Manuel.

The participating leaders include SSC and College Student Council (CSC) governors and councilors while the Student Organizations (SO) sent one representative along with their respective presidents. It was also honored by Former Senator Francis N. Pangilinan and Senator Risa Hontiveros virtually.

The interactive conference provided an opportunity for face-to-face question and answer activity, empowering participants to learn from established public officials and enhance their leadership skills.

The afternoon session took place at the CEC Function Hall where TAU officials, SSC advisers, and Peace Corps Volunteer (PCVs) of Rehoboth Children’s Home Inc. (RCHI) provided lectures to the participants. The event also saw active participation from the CSC vice governors, social media officers (SMOs) from various colleges, public information officers (PIOs), and members of SOs across the university.

Mr. Jimenez emphasized the importance of their sworn commitment in leading the whole student community and finding the courage to discover their talents through this training. "I hope that those who have not yet found their reason will do so during these two days of training, and those who have found it will strive to fulfill it," he shared.

On the second day, the SSC organized a team building and engaged with their peers, fostering camaraderie among groups and organizations. With the theme: β€œTeam Harmony: Celebrating Diversity,” leaders engaged in friendly activities and dance performances.

The organizations also ensured the segregation of waste and cleanliness of the venues after their two-day event demonstrating commitment to their responsibilities and aligning with the university goal to foster environmental sustainability.
