Committed to strategizing its academic framework under engineering and information technology programs, the College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) of Cavite State University (CvSU) - Don Severino de las Alas Campus in Indang, Cavite, visited Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) during its Lakbay Aral and Benchmarking Activity held at the TAU Agritourism Hostel Function Hall on 17 July.
The CvSU delegation was headed by Dr. Wille C. Buclatin, Dean of CEIT, along with 39 officials. This benchmarking visit to TAU was focused on identifying the best practices under areas of learning management, CET graduatesβ performance on board examination, collaborative research and extension projects, and CET internationalization (IZN) efforts.
On behalf of TAU President Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, Dr. Edmar N. Franquera, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VPRET), led the activity and expressed his enthusiasm to the CvSU-CEIT delegation for selecting TAU as an avenue for the collaborative engagement.
βThis benchmarking activity is a powerful catalyst for growth and an opportunity to learn from the best practices of each university. Let us embrace this experience with an open mind and a collaborative spirit β recognizing that the insights gained will not only enhance our individual performance but also strengthen our collective journey toward achieving our shared goals,β Dr. Franquera said.
Meanwhile, Dr. Buclatin expressed appreciation to TAU for hosting the Lakbay Aral 2025. He also acknowledged TAUβs achievement in the 2025 Times Higher Education (THE) Impact Rankings, where the University was ranked 1001β1500 among 2,256 universities from 130 countries.
Driven to share the Collegeβs best practices, Dr. Ruben A. Parazo, Dean of CET, led the knowledge exchange by presenting the Universityβs Vision, Mission, and core Engineering and Technology Programs, as well as its learning management strategies.
This was followed by a presentation on CET graduatesβ board examination performance, discussed by Dr. Catherine DR. Pueyo, Program Chair of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE), and Engr. Genesis CasiΓ±o, Program Chair of the Department of Geodetic Engineering (DGE).
The next segment of the program was facilitated by Dr. Joven A. Tolentino, Program Chair of the Department of Computer Studies and CET Research Coordinator, who tackled the Collegeβs research programs. Ms. Catherine S. Rosete, CET Extension Coordinator, also presented the various extension projects conducted by the College.
On behalf of Mr. Jayson J. Elenzano, CET ELIA Coordinator, Dr. Sheila R. Lingaya, Assistant Director and Chief for International Mobility of ELIA, shared the statistics on student and faculty participation in various local and international mobility programs under the Collegeβs IZN plan.
