In an effort to expand its academic programs and improve institutional processes, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) gathered experts from the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP) Center for Governance in this years strategic formulation sessions titled โ€œForesight-based Strategic Planning for TAU (2025-2035)โ€ held at the DAP Conference Center, Tagaytay. The activity was divided into two components including Component C: Strategic Plan Formulation on 7-10 January and Component D-1: Clean-up Sessions for Strategic Plan Draft on 22-24 January.
ย
The first session was facilitated by DAP experts, guiding TAU officials in setting the performance targets. Mr. Alvin P. Principe, Director of the Center for Governance - Operations Management Office (CFG-OMO) in DAP, focused on the discussions in revisiting the TAU Mission, Vision and Core Value Statements and strategy framework, ensuring they reflect the university's evolving priorities. It was then followed with ideas and a structured approach from Mr. Trygve A. Bolante, former Vice President for Corporate Affairs in DAP, in identifying performance measures and setting performance targets assisted by Ms. Queen S. Torres, Module Coordinator/Project Assistant at the CFG-OMO, DAP.
ย
During the first phase of the strategic planning, officials engaged in brainstorming and aligned the core pillars of the University like re-formulating mission, vision, and core values for TAU and defining the organizational outcomes for four pillars (academic and student affairs, finance and administration, planning and quality assurance, research, extension and training).
ย
In the second phase, officials reconvened at the DAP Conference Center from 22-24 January for Component D-1: Clean-up Sessions for Strategic Plan Draft. Resource persons were still led by DAP officials Dr. Principe, Ms. Torres, and Ms. Sheryl P. Tacuboy, the Project Manager of CFG-OMO, DAP. The sessions further refined the newly developed vision, mission, and core values, ensuring they indeed represent the actual trajectory of TAU.
ย
TAU President, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, reiterated the importance of shaping TAUโ€™s vision for success and urges fellow TAU officials to continue working hand-in-hand for the betterment of the University.
ย
Through these strategic planning activities, TAU manifests its commitment to institutional excellence and sustainable development. In a structured and collaborative approach, the University concretized its roadmap for the coming years, ensuring that all academic, administrative, and research endeavors will remain aligned with its overarching mission. The strategic plan is thus refined as a guiding framework to steer TAU's growth and impact in the higher education landscape.
