Twenty-five (25) out of 41 alumni of the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) - Department of Psychology (DP) surmounted the rigors of the Board Licensure Examination for Psychometricians (BLEP) 2024 after posting a rating of 64.10% for first-time takers and 60.98% for the overall rating.

In a Facebook post, CAS dean Dr. Sherwin S. Alar commended the newly registered psychometricians, citing their hard work as the main driving point for their triumph in BLEP. βThis yearβs success represents a significant improvement compared to previous years, highlighting the dedication and academic excellence of our students, as well as the unwavering support and guidance provided by our faculty,β Dr. Alar wrote.

The BLEP results of CAS - DP improved significantly this year. Registering a notable increase, the passing rate of TAUβs BS Psychology graduates beat the previous yearβs record, which stood at 47.37% for first-time takers and 42.86% for the overall passing rate.

Dr. Benny S. Soliman, CAS-DP faculty member, shared that such development is attributed to three strategies: institutionalization of the selection and retention policy; the strengthening of the Academic Competency Enhancement (ACE) program; and the implementation of Table of Specification (TOS)-based instructional materials. Dr. Soliman also added that the comprehensive review sessions under the ACE program engaged guest lecturers from prestigious institutions.

According to the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).- Board of Psychology, 7,478 individuals out of a total of 10,717 hopefuls successfully passed the BLEP August 2024. Said test covered four areas: psychological assessment; developmental psychology; abnormal psychology; and industrial-organizational psychology.
