As part of its mandate to advance lifelong learning and provide avenues for local and international collaboration centered on continuing education and professional development, Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) through the College of Education (CEd), a Commission on Higher Education (CHED)-designated Center for Excellence in Teacher Education, has formalized an agreement with the Society For Strategic Education Studies (S4SES) at the Office of the TAU President (OP) Conference Room on 1 July.
Initiated by Mr. Marlon B. Espedillon, CEd Assistant Dean and S4SES Island Cluster Representative (ICR) for Luzon, the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) covers accords on expanding networks, competency building, joint research, and learning resource production.
Signifying their commitment to realizing the provisions of the MOA, leaders from both institutions have agreed to organize the Second S4SES International Conference which is slated to begin on 23 November. Revolving around the theme: Educational Leadership in Uncertain Times, said convention is expected to bring together researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in the education sector.
The MOA signing was attended by Dr. Max P. Guillermo, TAU President, and CEd and External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) officials and staff. Representatives from S4SES include Dr. Eufracio C. Abaya, S4SES President, Dr. Maria Mercedes E. Arzadon, S4SES Vice President, and other officers who joined in-person and virtually.
S4SES Inc., a non-profit corporation registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), was established primarily to propel transformative scientific and cultural education and promote social awareness. It traces its roots from University of the Philippines - Diliman-based Educational Anthropology Network (EdAnthroNet) which was organized in 2013.
