𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | To promote earthquake awareness and preparedness, the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) joins the Fourth Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), national initiative spearheaded by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD), at the University grounds, 14 November.

OCD unites the Local Government Units (LGU) and private organizations to the quarterly NSED in practicing the preparation of simultaneous disaster and secondary hazards. While focusing on the “duck, cover, and hold” operation, the University Disaster Risk Reduction Management Committee (UDRRMC) of TAU provides two-way radios and whistles as communication tools to ensure the proper operations during the post-earthquake drills. Under the supervision of the UDRRMC Coordinator, Mr. Ronimo G. Ubaldo, the committee provides an emergency operation center, placing command posts in various areas at the University that supervises the Incident Management Team (IMT) and University First Aiders.

In addition, the TAU IMT is equipped with an emergency supplies kit that is necessary during the drill and guiding the whole community in emergency exits of the University, while the Planning and Development Office (PDO) ensures that every unit/office in the University has Evacuation Plan posted in visible areas in each office.
Moreover, the Infrastructure Development Land Use and Zoning (IDLUZ) Unit headed by Engr. Rochel E. Vibar guarantees the post-drill inspection on infrastructure, checking potential weakness of walls, ceilings, foundation stability, support beams, and the likes.
