𝐂𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐈𝐍 𝐋𝐄𝐍𝐒 | The Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech) transfers fabrication equipment worth a total of β‚±3.7 million to Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU), 15 October, eyeing to foster instruction, hands-on farm shop activities and farm machinery-related activities of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (ABE) students from the University's College of Engineering and Technology (CET).

The transferred metal fabrication equipment, which includes a hydraulic pipe bender, hydraulic press brake, hydraulic shearing machine, mechanical profile sheet roller/bender, and shaping machine, will empower ABE faculty and students to engage in hands-on learning and drive impactful research, specifically for the subjects Materials and Processes for ABE, AB Machinery, and Mechanization and Machine Design for AB Production.

The official transfer is made to TAU through its president, Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, by Ms. Glenda V. De Guzman, Administrative Officer IV of PhilMech, with the approval of the Center Director, Dr. Dionisio G. Alvindia.

Initiated by the CET Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CET-DABE) through its program chair Dr. Catherine DC. Pueyo, the transfer of equipment from Philmech is made possible with the support from the CET Dean Dr. Ruben A. Parazo, TAU-Office of the President (OP), General Services Office (GSO), and the Motorpool Unit (MU).
