CAF, CAS students qualify for UMAP Thailand flagship master class

As an uncertain future looms, University Mobility in Asia and the Pacific (UMAP) Thailand, Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, and King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) welcomed four Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) students to enrol in the Thailand UMAP Micro-Credentials (MCC) program and prepare them for the great shifts in technological and societal frontiers.

Set to roll out on 31 January 2022, the pilot project was divided in two strands. The members of the TAU delegate, comprised of Tirso L. Renante Jr. and  Jayson D. Enriquez of College of Agriculture and Forestry and Bren Noah M. Nieto and Joyce J. Munda of College of Arts and Sciences, will earn credentials in Strand B which is designed to develop the participants’ competency in Data Science, Persuasive Presentation, and Cultural Dimensions in Communication.

Mr. Renante, a BS Agriculture student, applied to MCC due to his fascination with Thai series. “I also look forward to learning the country’s culture and language,” he underscored.

Meanwhile, TAU-Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) invites students to participate in the university’s outbound mobility programs. Mr. Abner P. Mañebog, ELIA technical staff, disclosed that TAU has so much in store for TAUinians in 2022. “We, at TAU-ELIA, encourage TAU students, faculty, and staff to engage with the world through webinars, training, and exchange programs especially that TAU is a UMAP-affiliated university,” Mr. Mañebog added.

KMUTT Micro-credentials is job-embedded, performance-based, less time consuming and can also be recognized as credits toward KMUTT degrees. KMUTT is Thailand’s leading science and technology university.
