Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) representatives Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), together with Mr. Abner P. MaΓ±ebog Jr., Technical Staff for International Mobility of ELIA, participated in the Asian International Mobility for Students (AIMS) National Review Meeting held at Batangas State University (BatSU) from 7-10 October 2025.

The program began with welcoming remarks from the representative of Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo, President of Batangas State University (BatSU), followed by an inspirational message delivered by Dr. Rogelio T. Galera Jr., Regional Director of CHED Region IV.

The event primarily aimed to assess each HEI’s progress in student and faculty mobility within the ASEAN region, as well as to strengthen the program’s effectiveness in facilitating academic exchange. It also sought to share best practices, identify common challenges in student mobility, build capacity among participating institutions, enhance internationalization efforts, and promote academic mobility across Southeast Asia.

Through this initiative, participants gained valuable insights on improving mobility programs during the plenary sessions which included topics such as AIMS 2025: New Leadership and Future Directions, Strengthening the AIMS Alumni Network: From Mobility Experience to Regional Impact, Presentation of Revised CMO for AIMS Program, aligning strategic directions with SEAMEO RIHED’s regional mobility framework, among others.

The activity was organized by the Commission on Higher Education–International Affairs Service (CHED-IAS) and co-hosted by Batangas State University. TAU is among the three newly approved members of the AIMS Programme.Β

The AIMS National Review Meeting was participated in by TAU along with 16 other higher education institutions (HEIs) that are members of the Programme.
