Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) further expanded its global footprint by formally welcoming its first-ever cohort of practice teachers from Universitas Tidar (UNTIDAR), Indonesia.
Held at the Farmers Training Center OSITS Hall on 1 October, the welcome ceremony launched the International Practice Teaching Program for the first semester of Academic Year 2026โ2027.ย
Key leaders from both universities attended to highlight the partnership, including Dr. Silverio Ramon DC. Salunson, University President; Dr. Leonell P. Lijauco, Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs; and Prof. Rolisda Yosintha, UNTIDAR Vice Dean for Finance and General Affairs.
Following a performance by the Performing Guild (PG), Dr. Marianne P. Villaruel, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), presented the statement of purpose. Student delegates Hanun Iswan Manuhara and Huza An Naafi also shared an appreciation speech on behalf of their peers.
The five visiting pre-service teachers, Manuhara, Naafi, Alva Putri Ramadhani, Azka Aulia Pratama, and Muhammad Sabya Alam Awanta, will undergo a month-long comprehensive training and teaching assignments at the TAU Laboratory School (LS)
Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, Dean of the College of Education (CEd), closed the event with remarks on the role of global collaboration in teacher preparation.ย
Organized by ELIA and CEd, the initiative marks TAUโs first time hosting pre-service teachers from UNTIDAR, a prominent state university located in Magelang City, Central Java.
In 2021, TAU also hosted two regular exchange students from UNTIDAR for one semester; however, the program was conducted virtually due to mobility restrictions.
