Ms. Aira F. Waje, Director of the Rootcrops Research and Training Center (RRTC) represented the Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) as awardee of the prestigious Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) Learn Program at the Tropical Agriculture Conference (TropAg 2025) and conducted an institutional visit to the University of Queensland (UQ) in Brisbane, Australia from November 10 to 15, 2025.
Aiming to raise awareness of global challenges in agriculture and food production, the TropAg 2025 Conference brought together scientific experts, researchers, and ACIAR Learn awardees from various countries, including the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Solomon Islands, Vietnam, Rwanda, Tanzania, Fiji, and Papua New Guinea.
Through this international engagement, Ms. Waje gained valuable insights into research innovations and advanced practices in food production and climate-smart agriculture. Her participation strengthened the initiatives and mandates of RRTC as the Universityโs training hub for sweetpotato and other root crops.
Hosted by UQ in partnership with global agricultural research institutions, the TropAg 2025 Conference serves as one of the worldโs leading platforms for sharing advanced research and fostering collaboration toward sustainable agricultural development.
