A dominant performance defined the Arnis delegation of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) at the 6th Leg Luzon Friendship Game Invitational Tournament, held at Robinsons Metro East, Pasig City, on 8 November. Competing in the combative bracket for athletes aged 18 and above, the team delivered an exceptional showing, securing a total of 18 medals against fierce regional competition.

The women’s division set a powerful precedent with a decisive medal sweep. Rhesa May Pascual captured the sole gold medal in the 41–45 kg category, leading the division with a flawless display. Her performance was reinforced by strong silver finishes from Krissa Mae Dangil (40 kg and below) and Sarahjane Dayan (46–50 kg). The women’s roster further showcased its depth with bronze medals courtesy of Pearl Andrea Navarro (51–55 kg), Jesille Jane Marjen (56–60 kg), and Ashley Dheil Contreras (61–65 kg).

The men’s division mirrored this success with an equally commanding presence, claiming three gold medals. Jones Lee Paguirigan (66–70 kg), Darren Mateo (71–75 kg), and Jeremiah Clemente (Open Weight) each secured top podium finishes in their respective weight classes. Their victories were strengthened by four silver medalists—John Paul Dacalanio (50 kg and below), Mar Joshua Alcantara (51–55 kg), Romer Camilet (61–65 kg), and Mark Kevin Corpuz (86 kg and above)—highlighting the team’s consistency across divisions.

Five bronze medalists rounded out the men’s results: Michael Briones (56–60 kg), Lester Jade Daquigan (81–85 kg), John Allen Sicangco (76–80 kg), Cholo Aquino (50 kg and below), and Aljan Luke Arante (51–55 kg). Their collective effort underscored the squad’s extensive talent pool and technical proficiency.

With a final medal tally of 4 gold, 6 silver, and 8 bronze medals, the TAU Arnis delegation solidified its status as a premier force in the sport. This triumphant outing at the Luzon Friendship Game sets a promising benchmark for future competitions.

The victory was built on a foundation of strategic preparation under coaches Mr. Joshua Adriel S. Villanueva and Ms. Erika R. Prado, whose guidance proved instrumental in navigating the tournament’s demanding format and securing top honors across multiple weight categories.
