The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) carries out an inspection and monitoring visit at the Food Technology Department of Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) on 28 January 2026. The purpose of the visit is to monitor, evaluate, and make recommendations to ensure that the standards set by the national government for food technology education and practice are complied with.

The team of inspectors, led by Hon. Remedios V. Baclig, Hon. Mary Grace R. Mandigma, and Ms. Ivy N. Dionisio, examines the facilities, personnel, and programs of the department in relation to Section 9 of RA 8981, otherwise known as the PRC Modernization Act of 2000, and Section 6 of Republic Act No. 11052, or the Philippine Food Technology Act. These laws give the PRC the authority to monitor professional practices, supervise educational institutions, and ensure compliance with the policies and standards set by the Commission on Higher Education (CHEd).

During the visit, the team evaluates classrooms, labs, and other educational facilities to see if the department satisfies the requirements for faculty, equipment, and curriculum. The PRC also engages with staff to discuss measures for maintaining professional, ethical, and technical standards in food technology education and practice.

TAU welcomes the PRC delegation and highlights its dedication to ongoing improvement and adherence to national regulations, as represented by Ms. Christy Dianne Q. Ramos, Program Chair of the College of Agriculture and Forestry (CAF) FoodTech Department, and Dr. Sinamar E. Estudillo, CAG Dean. The inspection reflects the university’s dedication to providing high-quality education and producing competent food technology professionals ready to contribute to the industry.
