A new slate of officers has been elected to guide the United Faculty Alliance of Tarlac Agricultural University (UFA–TAU) Inc. for the 2026–2027 term.

The newly elected officials will be led by Dr. Rene G. Nanit, President, and Mr. Carlo Magno L. Sagun, Vice President. They are joined by Dr. Noel J. Petero, Secretary; Ms. Evelyn D. G. Reciles, Assistant Secretary; Mr. Raffy A. Santos, Treasurer; and Ms. Patrice Ann N. CasiΓ±o, Assistant Treasurer. Completing the roster are Mr. Von Lorenz A. Chavez, Auditor; Dr. Esmeralda P. Rodriguez, Public Relations Officer; Mr. Christian A. Robillos, Business Manager; and Dr. Angelo P. Guillermo and Mr. Pastor V. Ambat III, Sergeants-at-Arms.

Outlining a forward-looking and service-driven agenda, UFA President-elect Nanit announced six strategic priorities for the new administration. β€œOur plan is anchored on building a faculty community that is empowered, supported, and represented,” he emphasized.

Foremost among these priorities is a commitment to faculty advancement through a strengthened promotion system. β€œThe UFA–TAU officers will actively participate in strengthening and fully implementing a transparent, fair, and progressive institutional promotion system,” he shared, noting that the initiative is designed to recognize merit, research productivity, service, and institutional commitment.

Dr. Nanit also confirmed plans to explore expanded member benefits aligned with the Association’s Constitution and By-Laws (CBL). β€œWe aim to prioritize faculty welfare, security, and professional development while remaining fiscally responsible,” he added.

A standout welfare initiative is the proposed on-campus day care program, designed to support faculty parents by offering accessible and developmentally appropriate services for toddlers. β€œIn collaboration with the Gender and Development (GAD) Office and the Early Childhood Education (ECE) Department, the officers propose the initial establishment of a day care or caregiving program within the campus,” he explained.

Further commitments include ensuring representation for faculty members under temporary status and contract of service; advocating for consistent and fair implementation of University policies across all colleges; and strengthening liaison services to enhance faculty representation in institutional planning and decision-making.

When asked what message he wished to share with all UFA–TAU members, Dr. Nanit responded with a clear expression of purpose and solidarity. β€œWe stand with you in every struggle and every success,” he said. He emphasized proactive and responsive leadership: β€œThe UFA–TAU officers will be proactive; we take initiative, anticipate challenges, and act decisively to address faculty concerns before they become barriers, because change does not wait and neither do we.”
