A Sweet Success: Dr. Valdez talks about the future of sweet potato for feeds industry
Prof. Maria Teresa SJ. Valdez of Tarlac Agricultural University discussed the ProEn-K technology on sweet potato feed processing during the second broadcast debut of AgriSikat or “Sa Agrikultura, Sikat ka!” via DWFA 107.3 FM, the official radio station of Central Luzon State University, and simultaneously livestreamed on Facebook live feed reaching over a thousand of listeners and viewers last April 21.

CHED Chair De Vera lauds TAU during its 75th Founding Anniversary
CHED Chairperson J. Prospero De Vera III personally lauded Tarlac Agricultural University as he graced the convocation program of TAU’s 75th Foundation Anniversary last December 18, 2020.
Accompanied by the CHED’s OIC-Deputy Executive Director and the Director of International Affairs, Atty. Lily Freida M. Milla, Chairperson De Vera personally greeted the TAU administrative council who were physically present during the program and the rest of the TAU community who were watching the live streaming of the program via Zoom and Facebook.
Despite the pandemic, TAU celebrated its foundation anniversary with the theme “TAU@75: Celebrating Hallmarks of Tradition, Transition, and Transformation.” Chairperson De Vera delivered his speech focusing on the essence of celebrating traditions and customs as well as the duty of the academic sector to address the inevitable changes in society.
He added that the TAU has now achieved greater heights as it successfully forged its name in the region and even on the global academic map as a result of its internationalization efforts, innovation in research and instruction and community development projects.

CHED engages TAU in internationalization conference, awards TAU with UMAP Lifetime Membership
In an effort to explore more internationalization opportunities, the Tarlac Agricultural University represented by the Office of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) and the Office of Admission and Registration Services (ARS) attended the Conference on Internationalization of Higher Education in the ASEAN Region: UMAP as a Platform for Academic Mobility on May 16-17 at CHED Auditorium, UP Campus, Diliman, Quezon City.
The two-day event was part of the CHED Higher Education Week as it celebrated its 23rd Anniversary having been established on May 18, 1994 by virtue of Republic Act No. 7722 or the Higher Education Act of 1994 which was authored by Senator Francisco Tatad.
On the other hand, UMAP is an association of government and non-government representatives of the higher education sector. The Philippines became a full member of UMAP in 2001 with which the country has been actively involved in UMAP Exchange Programs. TAU became a UMAP member-institution in 2015.
