TAU, CBSUA unite to propel educational research, extension programs

To study possible collaborations on teacher education research and extension, officials from Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) and Central Bicol State University of Agriculture’s (CBSUA) College of Development Education (CDE) convened at the Office of TAU President’s Conference Room on August 22.

The delegation from CBSUA-CDE proposed collaborative activities to the TAU representatives which include Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA) and concurrent University Graduate Program Coordinator; Dr. Claire Anne A. Olivares, Dean of College of Education (CEd); Dr. Mariel T. Caguioa, Director of Research and Development; Dr. Yolanda S. Guillermo, Director of Extension and Training; Mr. Marlon Espedillon, CEd Assistant Dean; Dr. Blessie U. Lorenzo, CEd Program Chair; Dr. Sheila R. Lingaya ELIA Assistant Director; Dr. Ruben Parazo, Assistant Director of Planning and Development; and Mr. Lyde Ragus, Budget Officer.

“This is the first time CBSUA-CDE will be visiting TAU which is a nationally and globally recognized higher education institution,” Dr. Raquel M. Reapor, Dean of CDE, conveyed. Dr. Reapor also shared that the purpose of the meeting was to “elevate, enhance, and expand” the programs of CBSUA-CDE.

As part of the ensuing session, CBSUA-CDE’s  faculty staff presented their college’s flagship programs such as the 2nd International and 7th Regional Forum on Research and Education and the Pinaggikanan extension project. After clarifying some important details about said undertakings, Dr. Olivares and Dr. Caguioa vowed to cooperate with the leadership of CDE in hosting the events. Meanwhile, Dr. Claribelle B. Haber, Dean of CBSUA Graduate School, also recommended closer coordination with TAU’s Graduate Programs which is chaired by Dr. Ferrer.

TAU and CBSUA inked a Memorandum of Understanding during the latter’s benchmarking visit on March 2, 2022.
