City College of Calapan (CCC), a local university and college (LUC) in Oriental Mindoro, joined the roster of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) who now call Tarlac Agricultural University (TAU) a partner upon formalizing the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed by both parties on 13 July via virtual meeting.
In the said ceremony, the respective heads of both HEIs also expressed their full support to the bilateral partnership. College Administrator Dr. Ronald F. Cantos said that he looks forward to developing the curricular programs of CCC in collaboration with TAU. As an official cohort, Dr. Max. P. Guillermo, TAU President, responded with a fervent wish that such an agreement brings forth a “meaningful and functional relationship” which leads to “excellent academic and research culture” in both HEIs.
Moreover, Dr. Christine N. Ferrer, Director of External Linkages and International Affairs (ELIA), shared that the five-year accord will help TAU “see the world in new and different ways.” “Also, we must consider excellence as a continuous process, a never-ending loop, that only gets broader in stroke and wider in scope,” Dr. Ferrer continued.
Officials and IT specialists from CCC conducted an ocular inspection of TAU’s Innovation Laboratory (iLab) on 29 April. It was then when Dr. Ferrer suggested that said HEIs work on inking an agreement that focuses on enhancing mutual agencies spanning instruction, mobility, and innovation.
Established in 2011, CCC serves hundreds of Calapeño youth by providing “quality, accessible, and affordable tertiary education” in a number of disciplines including teacher education and management among others.
